Update

Even though I just started my Muscular Development Training phase (I will describe more about this in the next update), I have kind of hit somewhat of a wall with my workouts and motivation.  I am getting workouts and physical activity in, but not at the level of frequency and intensity I would like.  I did put up a few numbers that were better than the last two weeks of training but I am not really satisfied.  My body weight is actually back to what it was when I started!  This is disturbing, not because I am out of shape, but because I have not been keeping up with all the disciplines I need to keep making progress.  I am not achieving the standard I have set for myself.

Interestingly, this weight gain is in the midst of a 40 day period in which I am fasting from one meal a day.  My theory is that I am getting pretty hungry from skipping a meal and then overeating at the next meal.  This demonstrates why skipping meals is not a good idea if your goal is weight loss.  Your body metabolizes food much better if you eat smalls meals frequently throughout the day.  You will burn energy, not store it!  However, as I said in my last post, I am not fasting for weight loss, but to grow closer to God.  Not eating a meal really helps me focus my attention on God.  I am denying my physical needs for the sake of my spiritual development.  With all that being said, I still would like to improve how I consume calories in the midst of this fasting period so I don’t pig out when I give myself the green light to eat.

Summary

Total Workouts: 7 (up from 6 in the prior two week period)

Total Calorie Expenditure: 3,507 (up from 3,206)

Highest Individual Workout Calorie Expenditure: 915 (up from 815)

Highest Individual Workout Heart Rate: 161 (up from 159)

Highest Individual Workout Average Heart Rate: 129 (down from 131)

Body Weight:  200 lbs. on 11/18/10 (+ 1 lb from 199 lbs. on 11/4/10)
